It’s hard to admit, but I did lose a lot of contacts from leaving twitter. I miss talking to many of those people, my friends. Most of them are still exclusively reachable through twitter. I do hope I cross digital paths with them again…
I’ve been quite socially isolated lately. I’m trying to be social online again, but I have forgotten how to chat with people in a fulfilling way…
It’s okay, it’s fine. I just need to survive ‘til October, that’s when uni starts.
I’ve been making progress on Earthstranded, my animated short film. Right now the goal is just to produce the storyboard, and maybe continue work on it some time later. I’ve already started drawing the storyboard, but… I can’t focus enough lately… Right when I started work on it, I suddenly really want to write rather than draw, why must I be like this?
I can’t seem to be able to mold an idea of my future into some tangible thought. It kind of scares me sometimes, gets me thinking about purpose and meaning. Life is dumb. Only logical solution I see is to just focus on the now and soon-now.

Thinking about game logging sites… I quite like the look of Backloggery, and their cool web widgets, but… It just sorta has a different focus than what I have when I play games, you know? Backloggery focuses more on achievements like clearing out your backlog, 100% completing games, and stuff like that. I prefer the fairly recently created “alternative”, Backloggd, because it’s more focused on journalling and just keeping track of what you have played regardless of ownership, and logging your personal thoughts about a game.
Only thing I think Backloggd needs to be perfect are import/export options. I love me a spreadsheet! (And I love me the option to export my data from an online service, in case it shuts down)

Just read this cohost post about a common phenomenon in online projects: Discord servers for help & support, and just service lock-in in general, I suppose.
I specially like this quote:
[…] we’ve normalized not logging in. At this point, I don’t think you can get anyone to log into anything, ever again, unless they believe that “all their friends are there.” Whether that’s literal - as in a new social network - or figurative - as in “1200 users, wow, this must be a great resource” - the friction of getting someone to sign up has to be colossal in this foul year of our lord.
I’ve read a related blog post a couple days ago - this one. (“Please don’t use Discord for FOSS projects”)
Only slightly related, I’ve been hanging out on the melonland forum, and it’s been really fun.

Make 10: A Journey of Numbers is one of my favourite video games… I must admit that the main reason is nostalgia. I could talk about it for hours; the problem is that barely anyone has heard of it! In an attempt to fix that, I’ve started a wiki for the game!
I now have a space to freely infodump on an obscure game that I love and help others discover it >:)

Been giving my characters some love over on my toyhou.se profile!!
Doing a lot of art uploading and profile rewriting.. It’s helping me get back into writing stories, which I haven’t done in forever…

This is actually going to be my first post after setting up Jekyll! I’ve been having a lot of fun learning how to set it up. I especially love the plugin jekyll-admin! A CMS-like environment makes it much easier for me to really write freely.
I have a couple of posts planned already, but it’s probably gonna be a while before I sit down and actually write them. Matura is approaching fast, and schoolwork is piling up… Not getting quite enough sleep these days -_-
Well, anyways, thanks for visiting my blog. Keep an eye out for new stuff on it!
