Hi everyone.
It’s been a bit since the last post on my blog.
Mainly been busy with my recently acquired job + my visual novel, Heartbit. In this post I mainly want to share some developments with the project.
I still don’t really have any promotional material for the game, so I’m trying to still be a bit secretive about it. However, this game will be open source and licensed under a CC-BY-SA license, and if you’re good enough at digging for information you’ll find its public repository if you wish. It is being developed in Renpy.
Heartbit is a visual novel mainly starring robots that could be considered a “dating sim”. It is shaping up to be a work covering some interesting themes which I’m excited to explore as I write the story. The protagonist, and other “humans”, are represented by furries. This is mainly an aesthetic choice, I much prefer furries to humans visually and practically (as in, I don’t like drawing human people).
It’s hard to estimate how much of it is finished as of now, I am currently aiming to finish a demo of the game by october. I have the writing outlined, and most of it done, pretty much all sprites are done, like half of the backgrounds are ready… I really want to make that deadline. Once the demo is ready, it’s going to be smooth sailing from there, I imagine. The demo and its assets will serve as a foundation for the rest of the game.
Some of my friends have volunteered to help out with things for the project, and I am very thankful for their help. If we’ve talked at all, feel free to tell me if you’d like to follow development more closely or even help out as well.
If you wish to support me and my work, please do check out my kofi. I sometimes post some exclusive stuff there. Thanks!
That’s all I got for now, I suppose. I don’t have much energy today, so I suppose maybe I’ll try uploading some recent artwork to the website, as I’ve been neglecting that.
